[For some people in a small, crazy town, you just wanted a quiet life. A quiet life with your magic psychic powers and decently sized house and employment to a shadowy vampire-slaying organization.

And then in the last couple years everything just goes to shit.

So, today, irritated and bored, a certain hot redhead is sitting at the outdoor seats of a cafe, clearly waiting for something, and being both classy and incredibly dismissive to the people who try to take that ever sit with here.]

Yeah...I could have stood it being boring a little while longer.

[She'll get something...ridiculously strong. The waiter asks her if she's sure and she just stares at him. right.]

They say Najafi completed her mission with some extras, too. At this rate, maybe even the boss'll turn up? ...God, that'll be a mess.

Y'see, that's the part I dislike. Najafi's supposed to be a professional, right? And she brings home some science project. The bosses aren't supposed to move openly, either, and three of them are looking like they'll be involved. And we're not supposed to do anything more than freelance, and yet, I bet before this is over we're going to be in the deepest part of it.

[He shakes his head.]

I'd move, if the quiet wouldn't drive me insane.

...I could probably afford to have us in Hawaii for the next month while this blows over?

[Siiiiigh.] Look. I'll track down Will tomorrow, try and get some info or at least a ridiculous amount of power on our side. But right now, today? I meant it. Date. Not worrying about any of this. Got it?

[He considers this, and then takes his coffee from the waiter.]

Okay, then. Date it is. God, I haven't been on one of these properly since high school.

[Xanti that can't have been more than four or five years tops, you look like you hit about eighteen and decided aging was a thing people who weren't albino did.]

I don't really think I want to hear about how long it's been for you?

[She grins a little at him, over her coffee.] It's not that hard, though. Cafe, movie, dinner...maybe dessert, if you're real good. ♥

Oho, how traditionally picked out of you! I wouldn't have thought you to be the sort, but... I like it, I like it. A girl like you could demand anything so why not do it like this.

I figure, I've tried everything but doing it the proper way...why not make it classic?

[Laughing, and shaking her head.] It's not really 'dates' at a...private school, really. But with a job like mine, you learn a lot about ideals.

[...Well of course someone like her would be a model beginning to moonlight with acting. With a face like hers...it's no wonder.]

[Well, he seems to be looking at her in a way that says "not just your face." Because well, Xanti knows exactly how good she is at all of this.]

Well, for whatever the reason is, I'm glad you chose to do this with me. I can't think of a better way to spend a day.

[She'll just smirk a little, even if he's gotten her to blush. She does like getting that look out of him, turns out.]

And I can't think of anyone else I'd call for it. So.

[He laughs a bit at that and then begins chewing on one of those biscotti. Super hard there...]

Well, I'm glad to hear that.

At this point, I'd be kind of worried if you really thought there were any others I could possibly bother to give the time of day, Xanti.

[She's content to drink her coffee and watch him nom on iron biscotti for a little while.]

Or have I not been paying enough attention to you, lately?

Well, part of it has been my own work schedule. Things have been busy, since we had that proxy issue crop up... but I would like you to come around more, you know.

[He probably looks ridiculous trying to defeat this thing.]

[She's trying very hard not to laugh at trial of the biscuit here.]

[CRUNCH. There is that look of primal fear for a moment, where he can't tell if he got the biscotti broken or if that was one of his teeth... that melts away as he crunches up the biscotti.]

[...Okay she has to kind of giggle at that one.]

I appreciate it, it's hard to hide lockpicks in a dress.

Come on, I'm not finishing this. We should go ahead and get going.

[She grins, though, and sets down enough cash to cover everything before standing up.]

Alright, then! YOu mentioned having a movie or something in mind?

[Just. Snagging his hand so she can lead him towards the theatre hand is hers now Xanti deal with it.]

A movie, yes. What, have a preference, Xanti?

[What if he just hugs her tightly in his arms when they wind up in the line at the theatre, though?]

[Then he's probably getting some seriously shitty looks from the people around them and her leaned into him quite happily.]

[Well, she's eyeing the movie titles. Might be leaning towards some incredibly ridiculous martial arts movie because of course she is.]

[He is fine with the shitty looks. He's too busy holding her in his arms to give a fuck.]

I'd be happy to. But we should get into a movie.
